Welcome to the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, La Trobe University’s largest Faculty. We offer courses at La Trobe’s main campus in Melbourne, as well as at our four Regional campuses across Victoria: Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga, Shepparton and Mildura.
Our three schools, La Trobe Business School, School of Economics and La Trobe Law School undertake important research within their discipline areas and contribute to a host of national and international conferences.
Staff of our Faculty are internationally renowned for their research contributions and quality of teaching. This is proven by La Trobe University's rank as top in Victoria for student satisfaction (Sweeney Uni Student Report 2009), and 3rd by research (2010 academic ranking of Australian Universities). As a Faculty, we have continued to expand our international focus, forming partnerships with universities in Asia and Europe, as well as nationally. Our overseas student exchange program provides opportunities for our students to expand their horizons, both personally and academically, while our study abroad options grow our diverse university culture.
We are leading the way with many Australian first courses, such as our postgraduate degrees in 'Islamic Banking and Finance', 'Corporate Social Responsibility', our undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and a unique, compulsory first year Dispute Resolution subject for law students.
Our MBA and our Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality) have been awarded EPAS accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).This is the first MBA program in Australia to be recognised by the EFMD, which is one of the leading global accreditation bodies in the field of business and management, offering an assurance of quality and excellence.
In addition to leading courses, teaching and research, the Faculty offers language and academic skills and experienced based learning tools to help our students achieve their best academically and develop practical experience and networks vocationally.
